Flora

This is Flora.

She is an Irish Setter and she is 8 weeks old.

She's eating well and generally settling in nicely.  She likes playing in the garden, growling and barking at her ball, biting our feet (ouch) and snoozing with her new friend Rabbit when it all gets a bit too much.

Still managing to get some hooky in during puppy sleep time - simple face cloths with just a few rows of double crochet in Debbie Bliss cotton dk.

Best plants in the flowerhouse garden at the moment are the asters.  I love asters and it's only this year that I've bought some for the garden.  Let's hope they survive Flora's attention.

Am celebrating first blog birthday on 31st October with a little giveaway, details can be found here if you would like to join in.

Hope all is well out there ...

  5. Hello Flora, how cute are you!!! What a wonderful name you have, I am sure that you will be very happy in your new home and have all kinds of lovely adventures to look forward to. Just one thing, don't eat the flowers, that won't go down well even though your name is Flora! xx

  6. Hi Jane,

Flora is gorgeous. I love Setters. If I had a bigger house and didn't work the hours I do in order to walk one I would have one in a heart beat. I lived next door to a Gordon Setter growing up and he was lovely and from then on I was hooked. As much as I love my Cavie boys I could quite see myself in wax jacket wellington boots and a setter roaming across the fields of Lincolnshire. Still I'll just have to keep dreaming for now and make the most of the four paws I have who are equally as gorgeous....

  7. Flora is cute! Our puppy is 9 weeks today and very naughty. He also enjoys biting toes, and stealing toys. Thanks for visiting me earlier, it is good to meet you. x

  9. Flora is so adorable, and having seen her now in the flesh I can also vouch for the puppy playful biteyness! I'd forgotten how needle sharp their little teeth are at this age!
Hope you manage to get more crochet done during sleep time, the facecloth looks lovely. See you and Flora soon I hope!

  11. Hi Jane, found you whilst visiting Helen at crazydaisycrochetcottage :) Flora is ADORABLE! I'm soooo envious. But not quite ready to commit to a dog yet. Love the asters, are they perennial ? I'm not too knowledgable when it comes to plants:) Great colour though :)
Hope to see you at emeraldcottage.blogspot.co.uk

    1. Hi Jill, welcome. Flora is so sweet and is so much fun at the moment, but you are right, it is a commitment. We had an Irish Setter before so we knew what we were letting ourselves in for! The asters have done well and yes, they are perennial so hopefully they will reappear next year. Have a great week.

  12. Hi Jane,
Thank you so much for finding me-so in return I could find you, a real pleasure.
I will enjoy reading through your blog, which I would normally do before posting a comment however your pictures of Flora made me excitable!-OH MY WORD-gorgeous!, lucky you, I do miss my dog so much (don't tell my cat though).
just a quick point if you fancy making a covered jute bag-a fellow blogger saw a far better creation made by Sarahlondon-http://sarahlondon.wordpress.com/p-a-t-t-e-r-n-s/ (hope link works) scroll to nearly the bottom to see her bag-it is gorgeous and had I known I would do it in one piece around the main bag-next time I will.
    Catch up soon

  13. Flora is completely and utterly adorable. What a beauty! I've been told having a puppy is like having a new born but more work. I really hope that's not true as we'd love a dog some day. x
